ENGINEER

Valley Grinding & Manufacturing Inc. headquartered in Little Chute, WI, has an opening available for a Process Engineer.


The Process Engineer position will perform engineering activities and work on improving/implementing information, process, material flow and optimizing tooling and machines to meet our customers’ demands through the manufacture and sale of industrial blades, machine parts, blade grinding and sharpening services.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Management or a closely related field (foreign degree equivalency accepted). 
  • Two years of experience as a Process Engineer or closely related occupation. 
  • Two years in each of the following: 
  • Buying tooling for Computer Numerical Control (CNC) and Grinding Machines;
  • In a machine shop; 
  • Machine maintenance issues; 
  • Interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form to deal with several abstract and concrete variables CNC machine programming; 
  • Safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals CNC machine maintenance; and 
  • Mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

Essential Job Functions

  • Plan, coordinate, and direct quality control and process control of industrial blades, machine parts, blade grinding and sharpening services; 
  • Oversee the manufacture of these products to ensure they meet customer specifications; 
  • Study customer orders of blades and machine parts in the Epicor system in order to work towards optimization of material and labor; 
  • Ensure that orders being routed are properly to effectively complete quoting process; 
  • Participate in auditing, charting and reporting on Corrective Actions from Defective Material Reports and Customer Feedback forms; 
  • Stay current on technological advancements in the machining/grinding industry; 
  • Mentor/Train operators in situation of new tooling and/or processes; 
  • Actively participate in Planned and Preventive Maintenance programs to gain maximum lifecycle of machines and equipment; and 
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities.
