INSIDE SALES & MARKETING SPECIALIST

Position Summary

The Inside Sales and Marketing Specialist develops, organizes, manages, implements and evaluates marketing strategic plans to support the mission and goals of Valley Grinding. This individual will also support the sales team with proposal development and sales pipeline management.


Integrity, vision, and passion are essential for this role.

Qualifications

  • Must have the ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office software applications (i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or related tools and general graphic design knowledge.
  • Knowledge of online web production, including content management systems, email marketing programs, event registration systems and website analytics.
  • Ability to interview, research, develop and write original work, news releases, website content, etc.
  • Knowledge of electronic composition and print production.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, use and learn changing technologies, with knowledge of PPC, SEO, social media platforms, email marketing, content marketing, etc.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures. Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must have the ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations to potential or existing customers.


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Journalism, Communication, or closely related field.
  • Experience working in the manufacturing industry is preferred, but not necessary.


Physical Demands and Working Environment

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, talk, hear, use hands and fingers to handle materials, reach with hands and arms, lift up to 40 pounds, use close, distance, peripheral, and color vision to view equipment and products, use depth perception while handling materials, and adjust focus while viewing equipment and products.
  • Work takes place in an indoor production environment with adequate ventilation. There will be exposure to lifting and carrying items, vibration, and a typically loud noise level.
  • Moderate physical activity will take place to perform somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily product/technical nature.

  • Pay: Starting at $45,000, may vary based on experience
  • Location: Little Chute, Wis. (remote work opportunities available after 6 months of in-office training)

Essential Job Functions

  • Works closely with management and vendors to assess marketing needs, audiences and resources and develops marketing plans.
  • Provide direction and oversight for the design and content of all print and electronic marketing materials, including press releases, research, concept, development, copywriting, design, editing and execution.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of all marketing and communication activities and reports analytical information as needed.
  • Makes recommendations on marketing budget as appropriate. Monitors marketing expenditures and reconciles expenditures with pre-approved budget.
  • Plans and prepares for trade event participation and completes registrations and bookings.
  • Recommends, prepares, orders and manages inventory of all promotional items and logo wear.
  • Supports sales staff in proposal development and sales pipeline management.
  • Supports customer relationship management system implementation and data input.
  • Manages and updates sales portal creation and data with accurate information about Valley Grinding to support sales efforts.
  • Collaborates with Vice President of Sales and Account Managers to determine necessary strategic sales approaches.
  • Maintains and expands the company’s database of prospects.
  • Identifies decision makers within targeted leads to begin sales process within predetermine territory.
  • Ensures follow-up by passing leads to Account Managers with calls-to-action, dates, complete profile information, sources, etc.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvements to Valley Grinding strategy with constructive communication.
  • Oversees and executes special projects assigned under the direction of upper management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
