Superfinishing Sharpening
Process
Valley Grinding uses a superfinishing process to sharpen/resharpening
all circular knives. Superfinishing produces the cleanest,
sharpest cutting edge possible. First, worn stock is removed
with a traverse-type grinder. This technique helps maintain
the molecular integrity of the steel. The result is a better
finish on the sharpened blade. Next, the blade goes to the
superfinisher where the burr is mechanically removed and the
edge is polished. The result is a razor-sharp blade edge free
of burrs that will improve cut quality, reduce maintenance
costs and provide continuous improvement of your slitting
operation.
