Valley Grinding was founded in 1987 in the heart of Wisconsin’s paper-rich Fox River Valley. As a cutting tool sharpening service to nearby paper mills and paper converters, Valley Grinding has earned a reputation as a premium supplier of industrial blades, knives and grinding services to the converting and manufacturing industries for the past two decades. Valley Grinding manufactures a wide variety of circular knives, bottom bands, flat knives, solid carbide and solid ceramic razor blades, specialty knives as well as a patented (#5085535) TRU-FIT™ split band. All blades, bands and knives are manufactured from the highest grade of tool steel required for the customer’s machine and cut quality needs.
In addition to its manufacturing and grinding capabilities, Valley Grinding, or ‘VG’ offers in-house consulting services, slitting training seminars and design services. The company offers these services to enable customers to maximize the efficiency and productivity of Valley Grinding’s products specifically. Secondly, Valley Grinding’s expertise and advice helps customers in general produce a better product at a lower cost. The company also offers individual inventories and pick-up and delivery services within designated areas.
Valley Grinding and Manufacturing led the development of new technologies and customer-focused quality control measures to offer its customers the finest in cutting options. By implementing the use of powdered metals and cryogenics. For example, Valley Grinding has offered its customers nationwide the ultimate slitting and cutting products and solutions. New blades, as well as all reground blades, are shipped with protective edge coatings. Custom-made protective shipping containers are available. All products manufactured by VG meet or exceed OEM specifications. A fully equipped in-house quality control lab, including a video direct microscope and coordinate measuring machine rounds out the company’s operation.
In 1993 Valley Grinding expanded its operations with the opening of a facility outside of Atlanta in Tyrone, Georgia to service customers in the Southeast. In 1996 Valley Grinding again expanded its operations with the construction of a shop in the Columbus, Ohio area to service not only the Midwest but Northeast Region. In 2006, The Ohio Service Center doubled its capacity. This additional space will allow for growth and new machinery to be introduced, including a new Super-Finisher that is capable of delivering the sharpest slitter knives in the industry. In addition, the expanded facility will allow for growth in number of employees as well as services including sharpening services, and the repair of paper and poly choppers.
